About the opportunity
The University of Sydney is welcoming applications for a Senior Housing Officer, Student Accommodation to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Camden Student Accommodation which includes Nepean Hall, Nepean Lodge and Nepean Cottages to ensure that occupancy and revenue is maximized and that the residences are maintained to a high standard.
This role will ensure applications, bookings and peak periods are coordinated seamlessly, oversee the maintenance and repairs as well as work with key stakeholders to ensure their needs are met.
The Senior Housing Officer, Student Accommodation will work collaboratively with the Student Life team (Wellbeing and Cocurricular) to ensure a high level of customer service, support and to enhance the overall student experience.
The successful candidate may be required to travel to the main Camperdown Campus as requested by the Accommodation Operations General Manager.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- oversee the Camden Student Accommodation to achieve maximum occupation levels throughout the year for Accommodation Operations, including producing reports summarising occupancy levels
- supervise the residences in a professional and student focused manner consistent with relevant policy and procedures and contributing to enhancing the student experience
- support the safety of residents through liaising with security and wellbeing staff as required and be on call for emergencies
- support the general administrative services and operations support for the Student Accommodation business unit
- work with the Business Systems and Relationships Manager on internal and external stakeholder liaison
- develop and implement local procedures to ensure consistency in student experience, maintenance procedures and day to day operations that ensures the highest standards are maintained
- oversee adherence with contractual quality assurance, particularly as relevant to Residential Agreement and reservations (bookings and terminations)
- maintain the lifecycle, refurbishment and maintenance requirements of the Camden accommodation to ensure assets are being maintained to the University standards.
About you

- a bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
- a First Aid Certificate
- strong Operational experience preferably in student accommodation or similar as well as sound financial acumen
- experience and broad understanding of the real estate principles including compliance to Residential Tenancy Act
- extensive Project Management experience ranging in size and complexity including understanding of the quoting and tendering process, timeline management, contractor management and compliance requirements
- demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and the ability to foster productive relationships with key stakeholders and contractors
- strong operational experience preferably in student accommodation or similar as well as sound financial acumen
- a Real Estate Certificate or Licence will be highly regarded.
