This is a great opportunity to be part of the world’s largest bulk export port authority, encompassing the operating ports of Ashburton, Dampier, Port Hedland and Varanus Island, and five future port sites. You will be responsible for ensuring that port and lease agreements for customers and other commercial aspects are undertaken and managed to enable Pilbara Ports to meet its commercial obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure contracts database is maintained appropriately including data entry.
  • Maintain stakeholder relationships, including drafting formal correspondence.
  • Provide advice to internal stakeholders on port and lease agreements and land use matters.
  • Contribute to contract and lease management, ensuring risks are mitigated.

About You

Your demonstrated experience in the negotiations, and interpretation of lease and license contracts will contribute to your success in this role, as well as a clear understanding of strategic planning, customer relationship management, cost and market analysis. You will be the type of person who is a team player who enjoys helping others achieve organisational outcomes. Previous experience in construction or a port / maritime environment would be highly regarded.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, or Law or significant contract experience.
  • Proven experience in preparing commercial agreements in an industrial setting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market trends and forecasts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work under pressure and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud program is desirable.

About Pilbara Ports Authority

Perth, WA, Australia

PPA operates as a Western Australian Government Trading Enterprise, and is governed under the Port Authorities Act 1999 WA (the Act).

PPA was established on 1 July 2014 as a result of the Ports Legislation Amendment Act 2014 consolidating seven of WA’s eight port authorities into four new regional port authorities. The former port authorities of Dampier and Port Hedland successfully amalgamated and formed PPA.

PPA encompasses the Port of Ashburton, the Port of Dampier and the Port of Port Hedland, and future ports of Anketell, Balla Balla and Cape Preston East. PPA will also assume oversight of a number of Shipping and Pilotage Act 1967 (SPA) ports, including the ports of Port Walcott, Cape Preston, Barrow Island, Varanus Island and Onslow from 2016.
