We are a progressive wholesaler of frozen, chilled, ambient and fresh foods and related products to business customers throughout Tasmania. We also sell directly to the general public through our four No Frills Foodmarket outlets.

With around 200 staff operating from multiple depots around the state we maintain an extensive IT infrastructure.

About the Role
We currently have an opening for a self-motivated, high achiever to join our IT support and development team.
The successful applicant will work as part of our business support unit and will liaise frequently with key stake holders throughout the various parts of the business.
This is a wide ranging role, covering all aspects of Information Technology within the business.
Your Key Duties will include;
Maintain, create and test application program code and operating system scripts.
Providing support and assistance on multiple wide ranging IT projects, including but not limited to, in house software development and documentation, hardware and software upgrades, business process review and improvement.
Providing end user support for all IT platforms including Windows, Linux and iOS systems.
Ensuring integrity of all network data is maintained via security policies and backup coverage.
Ensuring IT assets throughout the company are maintained and updated/replaced as necessary.
Liaising with external support and service providers.
Answering to the IT Support and Development Officer this position is full time Monday to Friday with occasional out of hours work required.
The position is based in our Launceston (Prospect) business support office.
About You
The successful applicant will be somebody who enjoys a challenge.
You will work in a close team environment with support available when required. But you also need to possess the ability to appropriately and effectively prioritise and manage your time while working under only light supervision.
You must be able to problem solve, have a proven ability to achieve results and possess outstanding written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
To be the successful applicant you will possess;
• A high level of attention to detail and be able to demonstrate drive and initiative.
• A proven ability to analyse and evaluate user requirements and undertake development, implementation, integration and support of systems appropriate to meeting those requirements.
• A proven ability to translate highly technical concepts and terminology into common easy to understand language.
• Experience providing end user help desk support in a windows environment.
• Effective verbal & written communication skills.
• Strong numeracy, literacy and analytical skills.
• Proven time management skills and an ability to meet deadlines.
• A desire to learn and further develop your skills
The following qualifications and past experience will be looked upon favourably;
• A degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science
• A good understanding of and past experience with retail operations or wholesale distribution
• Experience managing systems in a multi site environment.
• Experience with Pronto Xi, Linux and Windows Server
• Experience in software development and coding technologies such as; VB.NET, C#.NET, Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL Server, Informix (IDS)
• Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
• Experience with Apple iOS / iPadOS programming and development.
