Gold Coast Disability and Youth is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities and mental health through tailored support services. We are seeking an experienced Key Worker with a robust background in complex mental health support to join our team. This role involves overseeing client housing, managing complex behaviours, and addressing mental health needs.
Role Overview: As a Full-Time Key Worker, you will manage client housing operations and provide comprehensive support to individuals with complex mental health conditions. Your role will include overseeing housing arrangements, managing rosters, developing and implementing support plans, advising and supporting other support workers, and assisting with daily living activities (ADL). We are particularly interested in candidates with experience working with ASD, BPD, PTSD, and Schizophrenia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage staff rosters and client support plans.
- Provide guidance and support to staff in managing participants' mental health needs.
- Collaborate with mental health professionals and stakeholders.
- Prepare and report incident data to relevant stakeholders.
- Communicate with residents, families, and other stakeholders.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and conduct risk assessments.
- Oversee house organisation and running
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Extensive experience with complex behaviours and mental health conditions such as ASD, BPD, PTSD, and Schizophrenia.
- Proven experience with psychosocial disabilities and/or psychosis.
- Ability and resilience to navigate regular incidents and an beneficial resolutions
- Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health/Community Services or equivalent relevant qualifications (ideally higher qualifications are preferred)
- Yellow Card/NDIS Workers Clearance
- Blue Card/Working with Children Clearance
- First Aid/CPR Certificate
- Australian Driver’s Licence
- Roadworthy and Insured Vehicle
Essential Skills:
- High-level organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Capacity to work under pressure and lead a team effectively.
- Experience in residential support settings and managing change.
Availability:
- Must be available for a minimum of 38 hours per week across all shifts in a 24/7 roster, including day, evening, overnight, and weekends.
