Due to growth, we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our client's growing team. In this dynamic, fast-paced group environment, the successful candidate will need to be adaptable, proactive and committed to delivering high quality results.
The Role
This role is an important member of the Finance Team and is responsible for the maintenance of financial statements and associated accounting tasks. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this position will involve collaborating with stakeholders in various business units to deliver essential financial insights.
Responsibilities:
Managing the general ledger including overseeing the monthly balance sheet, banking, and inter-company reconciliations
Aid Finance team with day-to-day accounting duties
Prepare, process, and reconcile accounts, invoices, and payments
Create and update expense reports
Cashflow preparation and management
Accountable for accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers and collections
Contact clients and vendors as necessary to ensure accurate and on-time payments
Manage the financial transactions into internal databases, including monthly billing
Prepare month-end reporting, profit and loss statements and consolidated group reports
Assist with budgeting and forecasting reports
Manage ledgers and ensure accurate financial record keeping across departments
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Ensure various compliance requirements are met
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
Minimum 3-5 years of work experience in similar role
Proficiency in MS Office and Xero accounting software is essential
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to perform data and statistical analysis to spot trends and anomalies
Familiarity with Australian finance regulations and Australian tax laws
Strongly detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining accuracy and integrity of accounts
Ability to quickly learn and utilise industry-specific accounting tools
Ability to multitask across several types of accounting-related projects and business units
