Purpose of the role
This position is responsible and accountable for:
- testing models
- creating efficiencies and automation between all Trust Accounting, Fund Administration, Trustee Services and Trust Management models and applications
- delivering Eticore’s trust accounting service levels, capabilities and efficiencies;
- working effectively and efficiently with the Head of Trust Accounting to assist by:
- communicating with clients and external entities on matters relating to trust accounting;
- assisting the Trust Accounting, Trust Services and Trust Management teams across a range accounting-related projects and duties;
- building the reputation of Eticore within the financial services and corporate trust industry, specifically in relation to client service, excellence in quality of output, bespoke and agile solutions for clients, consistency and accuracy of all work;
- building and maintaining strong relationships with clients;
- understanding and keeping up to date on Eticore’s policies, goals, and ethos; and
- adhering to and promoting Eticore’s ethical tone, including ethical standards, corporate social responsibility and wellbeing of the community.
Key relationships and reporting structures
- The role reports to the Head of Trust Accounting.
Deliverables
- Maintain general ledger accounts for a variety of trusts;
- Prepare trust financial statements (special purpose and general purpose);
- Liaise with and monitor both internal and external service providers who are preparing the trust’s accounts, tax returns, BAS and other mandatory reports;
- Assist in developing and documenting new systems and procedures, and propose improvements to existing procedures;
- Deliver trust accounting services whilst ensuring risk management, exceptional customer service and efficiencies are prioritised and delivered.
Responsibilities
Relations with Eticore employees:
- act in accordance with and continually reinforce Eticore’s vision, mission and values to other employees; and
- ensure ongoing compliance with Eticore’s Code of Conduct and OH&S policies and procedures.
Communications:
- provide ideas and advice to the Head of Trust Accounting to aid in the development and operational improvement of Eticore’s processes;
- consistently present the organisation and its mission, values and services in strong, positive images to relevant stakeholders and the general public; and
- undertake to represent the position and views of Eticore to all relevant internal and external stakeholders in a way that enhances the reputation of Eticore.
Corporate governance and risk management:
- ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to at all times; and
- maintain records and documents in accordance with the organisation’s procedures and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulation.
Essential knowledge, skills and qualifications
- University degree, preferably in accounting, business, finance or an associated discipline;
- Experience using Xero accounting software is desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks;
- Ability to manage time effectively, handle competing priorities and meet strict deadlines;
- Outstanding attention to detail;
- Ability to face challenges with a positive, forward-thinking attitude.
Salary dependent on skills and experience, open to both junior and senior applications
