Our client is a well-established, privately owned company that specialises in the manufacturer and distribution of high-quality cleaning & hygiene consumables, dispensing equipment and machinery. The organisation has a wide range of products from leading brands, in addition to their own established brands. With an offering that includes cleaning & sanitising chemicals, dispensing equipment, large floor sweepers & scrubbers, PPE and packaging, combined with a national footprint of distribution centres and sales staff, this organisation is well positioned to service the cleaning and facilities maintenance needs of small, medium and large businesses. With a desire for continued ongoing growth, the company is currently looking to recruit the role of Key Account Manager.

The role

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this key role will focus on optimising sales, driving growth and retaining existing customers.

More specifically, you will be involved in the following:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for key accounts to ensure they are retained, and a high level of service is provided;
  • Developing a deep understanding of each key accounts’ business operations, in order to provide them with advice and solutions;
  • Reviewing and analysing account spend, product mix and month on month trends to identify opportunities growth;
  • Working closely with the QLD Business Development Manager to identify and follow through on new leads;
  • Working with the equipment specialist team to develop opportunities for machinery demonstrations;
  • Booking regular face to face meetings to ensure there is a strong business relationship and to build loyalty;
  • Training customers on the correct use of the company’s dispensing systems and chemicals; and
  • Assisting in the achievement of company sales targets.

About you

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar Senior Sales or Key Account Manager role;
  • Demonstrated experience growing share of wallet within an existing account base;
  • Strong account planning and analytical skills with the ability to use data to make decisions;
  • Proactive, highly motivated personality with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team;
  • A professional, yet relaxed and adaptable approach that means you can adapt to wide range of customers and situations;
  • Professionally presented with strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills; and
  • Prior experience in a related industry would be an advantage, however cultural fit and skills are the most important criteria.
