The City boasts a comprehensive working local history collection containing maps, plans, documents, photographs, newspapers, ephemera and oral history recordings. These are housed at the Karratha Public Library. The purpose of Economic Development is to build up the economic capacity of the City of Karratha to improve its economic future and the quality of life for all. It is a process by which the City will liaise with the public, business, government and not-for-profit sector partners collectively, to create better conditions for economic growth and employment generation.
