We are seeking an enthusiastic and community-focused Leisure Duty Manager to support the delivery of recreation programs, services and facilities across the Eastern Region, including the Wickham Recreation Precinct, Roebourne and Point Samson.
About the Role
Reporting to the Wickham Recreation Precinct Supervisor, you will play a key role in coordinating programs and bookings, supervising frontline staff, building strong relationships with local sporting clubs and community groups, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This is a varied and hands-on role that combines operations, administration, community engagement and recreation programming to create positive experiences for residents and visitors.
What You'll Be Doing
- Coordinate the day-to-day operations of recreation facilities, programs and services across the Eastern Region
- Lead, train and support Customer Service Officers and Program Assistants to deliver outstanding customer experiences
- Manage seasonal facility bookings, respond to community enquiries and oversee facility hire processes
- Develop and promote recreation programs, events and initiatives that encourage community participation and engagement
- Assist with marketing activities, grant applications, budgeting, reporting and continuous improvement of systems, procedures and customer service delivery
What We’re Looking For
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering recreation programs, activities and community events, with experience promoting facilities, programs and participation
- Strong leadership, organisational and customer service skills, with the ability to supervise staff, manage competing priorities and work autonomously
- Experience in administration, financial processes, booking systems, reporting and budget monitoring, supported by strong computer and technology skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with community groups, sporting clubs, facility users and other stakeholders
- Current C Class Driver's Licence, Current First Aid Certificate, National Police Clearance and a Working with Children Check
- Qualifications in Recreation, Education Programming or a related field, plus experience in marketing and grant writing, are highly regarded
