Our client is seeking a Payroll Officer to join their supportive team on a 12-month full-time fixed-term contract based in Roxburgh Park, VIC. The Role:
The Payroll Officer plays a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services across multiple entities within the organisation. Working closely with the Finance Manager, this role supports day-to-day payroll operations and contributes to the smooth financial performance of the business.
Key responsibilities include:
Processing end-to-end payroll accurately and on time for all staff across multiple business units
Calculating salaries, allowances, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and superannuation
Maintaining and updating payroll and employee records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and award conditions
Preparing and submitting payroll-related tax filings and reports (including PAYG, superannuation, and other deductions)
Assisting with reconciliations, audits, and budget preparation by providing payroll analysis and cost forecasts
Managing employee payroll queries and providing responsive, accurate support
Supporting financial reporting, invoicing, and inter-company transactions as required
Contributing to compliance across Aged Care, NDIS, and WHS frameworks
Requirements:
Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing
Certificate IV in Bookkeeping, Diploma in Accounting, or related qualification (Bachelor’s in Accounting desirable)
Strong understanding of payroll legislation, taxation, and industrial awards
Hands-on experience with accounting software (preferably Xero, Employment Hero, and Excel functions such as VLOOKUPs)
Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and confidentiality
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and collaborate within a busy finance team
Current Police Check, Working with Children Check, and NDIS Worker Screening (or willingness to obtain)
Full Australian working rights and a minimum of two COVID-19 vaccinations
