About the role

As a Sous Chef with MBD Unit Trust, you will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of our award-winning restaurant in Nedlands, WA. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen team and ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of high-quality meals to our discerning customers. This is a full-time position that will see you immersed in a fast-paced, collaborative kitchen environment.

What you'll be doing

Assisting the Executive Chef in the overall management and coordination of the kitchen team

Supervising and training kitchen staff to maintain the highest standards of food preparation and presentation

Developing and implementing new menu items, ensuring they align with the restaurant's culinary vision

Ensuring adherence to food safety regulations and best practices

Monitoring inventory levels and placing orders for necessary supplies

Providing leadership and support to the kitchen team during service

Collaborating with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years' experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role within a high-quality restaurant or hotel kitchen, well trained chefs looking to grow from CDP roles will also be considered

Formal culinary training or a recognised chef's qualification

Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate the kitchen team

Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Creative flair and a passion for developing innovative menu items
