About the role

Kingston Human Capital are partnering exclusively with a Queensland Government Agency to engage an AO6 Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer on a 6 month initial contract with likely extension.

This role is ideal for a state government experienced procurement professional who thrives in a dynamic, high-performing environment, and enjoys managing the full procurement lifecycle - from planning and tendering to contract negotiation, award, and supplier performance management.

In this role, you will:

• Procurement planning, sourcing strategy and approval
• Completion of procurement documentation to release to market
• Tender administration
• Lead evaluation and negotiation for supplier selection
• Finalise the award of the contract (including preparing contract documents)
• Contract management including planning, contract administration, and reporting
• Prepare contract variations and contract extensions

• Undertake end to end tactical and strategic procurement activities to deliver the procurement outcome for the stakeholder, including:
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships across internal teams, suppliers, and industry
• Preparing reports, briefings, and correspondence to support procurement governance

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Strong knowledge of Queensland Government procurement policies and legislation
• Proven experience in managing end-to-end procurement processes
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to lead change, make insightful decisions, and drive accountability

• Hourly rate of $78.02 - $83.32 + super (paid weekly)
