The Senior Procurement Officer will be responsible for leading procurement activities within the Procurement and Contract Management Group. They will be responsible for ensuring procurement outcomes, meet business needs and comply with the Queensland Procurement Policy (QPP).

Description

• Deliver assigned work and provide specialist accurate procurement support and advice in alignment with Chief Procurement Officer direction
• Provide timely, professional, and strategic procurement advice to stakeholders and suppliers on procurement processes and practices.
• Undertake end to end strategic procurement activities to deliver the procurement outcome for the stakeholder, including:

o Procurement planning, sourcing strategy and approval

o Completion of procurement documentation to release to market

o Tender administration

o Lead evaluation and negotiation for supplier selection

o Finalise the award of the contract (including preparing contract documents)

o Contract management including planning, contract administration, reporting and incident management

o Management of contractual disputes and invoicing issues

o Prepare contract variations and contract extensions for assigned contracts ensuring that appropriate process and relevant documentation is maintained.

o Undertake contract negotiations as required to ensure operational efficiency and value in the delivery of assigned contracts

o Provide subject matter expertise in relation to the management and utilisation of assigned contracts.

• Prepare and/or review performance reports, briefing notes, and other correspondence in accordance with departmental standards.
• Maintain the record management systems including databases, registers, and other procurement systems whilst also contributing to system improvements to increase their efficiency and effectiveness.

Profile

• Comprehensive knowledge and competency in carrying out end to end procurement process, including tender evaluation, processes leading to award, negotiation, contract award and debrief processes across a range of industries.
• Experience in delivering complex procurement processes.
• Able to adapt tactics to emergent situations and delivers results consistently.
• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to provide guidance on risk mitigation for procurements.
• Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes within the public sector.
• Proficiency in tendering, contract management, and supplier negotiations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Familiarity with relevant procurement legislation and policies.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
