Mason Bros Vegetable Farms, located in Werribee South, 30 minutes West of Melbourne, is an industry leader in growing and supplying fresh cut vegetables throughout Australia.
We are currently seeking an experienced Production Horticulture Supervisor. This is an operational hands-on position and assists with coordinating and supervising farm teams to meet daily planting and harvesting targets and to achieve quality standards of vegetable produce.
Duties include:
Undertaking vegetable planting and harvesting programs
Pre-operational checks and safe operation of farm machinery including tractors, trailers, planters and harvesters
Daily set up of farm equipment and machinery for planting and harvesting
Co-ordination of planting and harvesting site activities including resources, stock material and machinery
Supervise and assist planting and harvesting teams to achieve daily schedules
Housekeeping of equipment and machinery, cleaning programs and basic maintenance
Complete quality assurance data inputs into farm management system and daily reporting activities to farm management
Maintain a high standard of safety practices
Skills, experience and qualifications:
Previous experience in vegetable (horticulture) farming, preferably at a coordination / supervisory level
Good knowledge of vegetable planting and harvesting practices
Certificate IV or higher qualification in Horticulture / Agriculture
Hold a current driver’s license (truck license is advantageous)
Forklift License
Experienced in operating farm machinery (i.e. tractors, harvesters, planters, etc.)
Excellent coordination and organizational skills
Flexible to undertake a variety of tasks & able to work flexible hours through seasonal weather fluctuations
Good communication skills
Able to maintain efficiency and high performance particularly during peak seasonal periods
We offer:
a competitive wage ranging $72,000 - $78,000 per annum (or equivalent hourly rate) + super, on the job training, and rewarding good performance with full time ongoing employment.
