About the RACGP

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) represents GPs across urban and rural Australia, supporting the nation's health system for over 60 years by setting educational and practice standards and advocating for improved health and wellbeing. We promote the future of general practice through community-based training models, including the Australian General Practice Training Program, ensuring GPs are equipped to deliver quality, whole-person care and facilitating ongoing professional development while connecting GPs with communities nationwide.

About the role

As a Training Coordinator, you'll play a key role in delivering the AGPT program within your assigned training region. This dynamic, customer-facing position focuses on building strong relationships and ensuring the smooth coordination of training activities across the area.

Working closely with Program Delivery Managers, Medical Educators (Local and Regional), and Program Support Officers, you'll help create a seamless experience for registrars, supervisors, and practice staff. Reporting to the Training Coordination Team Leader, you'll collaborate with the broader Medical Education team to deliver a well-organised and high-quality program.

You'll also take ownership of your designated portfolio areas as a subject matter expert, manage a range of administrative and coordination tasks, and provide support and back-up for fellow Training Coordinators within the region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, relationship-focused professional who enjoys working collaboratively and contributing to the success of a vital training program.

As our Training Coordinator, you will:

  • Plan and coordinate registrar placements to align training capacity with community needs, workforce demand, and registrar career goals
  • Manage registrar training activities including advisor meetings, policy and program guidance, training event participation, and evidence submission
  • Oversee program operations such as elective training programs, External Clinical Teacher Visits (ECTV), accreditation and reaccreditation processes, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Provide support and guidance to registrars, supervisors, and Program Support Officers, including managing appeals, remediation, and performance processes
  • Monitor and report on program performance by maintaining accurate data, preparing reports, and contributing to regional KPIs and continuous improvement activities

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (desirable)
  • Experience supporting the delivery of the AGPT program or similar training programs
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, manage competing priorities, and resolve complex issues independently
  • Strong collaborative and cross-functional working skills
  • Experience in health and/or education settings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital systems, including learning management and CRM platforms
  • Experience writing procedures and workflows (desirable)
