We’re seeking an experienced Workshop Service Estimator / Coordinator to join our team, managing the day-to-day workflow of our busy heavy equipment workshop. This position is ideal for a qualified Diesel Fitter looking to move off the tools into a planning, estimating, and customer-focused role - while still staying close to the machines.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, you’ll be responsible for estimating, scheduling, and coordinating service and repair work for a wide range of CAT and other heavy earthmoving equipment.
Your strong technical background will help you accurately scope jobs, price parts and labour, and communicate effectively with both customers, contractors and the workshop team.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate & detailed estimates and job quotes for repairs and overhauls on heavy earthmoving equipment
Schedule and coordinate workshop and some field service jobs
Liaise with customers regarding job progress, timelines, and approvals
Source and price parts, components, and subcontractor services
Support invoicing, job costing, and service reporting
Maintain communication between workshop, contractors and management teams
Ensure jobs are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
About You
Prior experience in similar role is advantageous
Qualified Diesel Fitter / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic with significant post-trade experience
CAT dealership or OEM experience highly regarded
Strong understanding of heavy earthmoving equipment, diagnostics, and repair procedures
Proficient in Microsoft platforms (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) and CAT WEBSIS - essential
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and cost breakdowns
Confident using computers and respective add-ons to complete daily tasks
Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities
