We’re now looking for a hands-on Workshop Supervisor to help lead our next phase of growth.

About the Role

This role suits an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Diesel Fitter who thrives on leadership, quality, and efficiency.

You’ll manage the daily workflow, support apprentices, liaise with admin staff, and uphold our workshop’s quality control standards.
When the Director is away, you’ll be the key person ensuring that jobs are completed on time, on budget, and to our quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Supervision

Manage daily job allocations and monitor progress through the workshop

Mentor apprentices and junior technicians, ensuring they follow processes and training plans

Maintain workshop discipline, cleanliness, and a safe working environment

Run toolbox meetings and enforce WHS procedures

Act as point of contact for customers and admin when management is off-site

Technical & Diagnostic Work

Carry out diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on trucks, heavy vehicles, and light vehicles

Oversee defect inspections, quality control checks, and final sign-offs

Support complex diagnostics including DPF, electrical, and emission systems

Ensure all work meets internal QA and compliance standards

Documentation & Communication

Record accurate job notes, photos, and stories in the job management system

Liaise with admin staff for job updates, quotes, and customer communication

Assist with workflow planning, time tracking, and parts coordination

Maintain documentation compliance for every vehicle that enters the workshop

What We’re Looking For

Trade qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (AUR31120) or Diesel Fitter

5+ years post-trade experience

Proven leadership or leading-hand experience (supervisory preferred)

Excellent diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills

Confident communicator and problem solver

Able to manage multiple jobs and team members at once

Current driver’s licence (HR preferred)

Air-conditioning licence or COI accreditation highly regarded

The Roster

We operate a rotating fortnightly roster designed for balance and productivity:

Week 1: Monday – Thursday (4 days)

Week 2: Monday – Saturday (5½ days)

This structure gives you a long weekend every second week while maintaining consistent weekly hours.
