  • Temporary Clerk Grade 9/10 ($129,464 - $142,665) role available until 23 October 2026 with potential to extend, based in Martin Place, Sydney CBD.

About the Role

As a Senior Associate, Capability Development, you will lead complex policy and project work focused on emergency management reform and capability development. You'll provide high-level advice to the Premier and senior executives, coordinate cross-agency initiatives, and contribute to service delivery improvements that support NSW communities during times of crisis.

Key priorities include developing and implementing strategic initiatives, designing and delivering components of the NSW Emergency Management Curriculum and driving continuous improvement across emergency management arrangements and programs.

You will join the Emergency Management team within the Delivery and Engagement Group. This branch plays a critical role in coordinating whole-of-government responses to urgent issues and crises, ensuring effective collaboration across agencies to deliver impactful outcomes for the people of NSW.

The role is currently available on a temporary basis until 23 October 2026, with the potential to extend or convert to ongoing.

We're Looking For

  • Emergency Management Expertise: Existing knowledge of the emergency management sector, including an awareness and understanding of relevant stakeholders, policies and frameworks and demonstrated experience in managing complex cross-agency coordination and delivery
  • Strategic Project Leadership: Proven ability to develop and implement service delivery reforms and strategic initiatives with a focus on capability development and continuous improvement.
  • Policy Development and Analysis: Strong capability in conducting research, developing policy, and evaluating programs, with a sound understanding of government processes and stakeholder engagement.
  • Training Design and Development: Experience with managing and/or operating Learning Management Systems, particularly in an emergency management context, will be highly regarded.
