A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced Maintenance Fitter / Turner to join a leading Australian-owned FMCG food manufacturer at their modern Yennora facility. This is a permanent, full-time role on the afternoon shift supporting a fast-paced production environment.

The Role Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement activities. You’ll use your trade skills to perform preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and equipment upgrades across a variety of automated systems and packaging machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance on production machinery, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and packaging equipment
• Manufacture and fit replacement parts using lathes, milling machines, and other workshop tools
• Diagnose mechanical faults and perform timely repairs
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery
• Work closely with electricians and operators to improve plant performance
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure safe work practices at all times

About You

• Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade – Fitting & Turning) or equivalent
• 5+ years’ experience in FMCG, food, or packaging manufacturing
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
• Competent in pneumatics and workshop machining
• Knowledge of Siemens PLCs and automation systems (advantageous)
• Safety-focused, reliable, and team-oriented
