Holsworthy Community Group Inc. | Community Coordinator – Part Time

About us: The Holsworthy Community Group is a Tri-service community group located at Holsworthy Barracks in the Holsworthy posting location of NSW Australia. Our aim is to support serving members and their families while living in the area by offering programs that facilitate interaction to help make connections both professionally and personally. We offer programs, events and courses to partners, children and serving members in a fun and supportive environment. Civilian members and families of the local community are also welcome.

About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated and personable individual to join our team as the HCG Coordinator. This dynamic and rewarding role is perfect for someone who loves connecting with people, driving positive community outcomes, and working both independently and collaboratively.

As a key member of the executive team, you’ll serve as the main point of contact between members, service providers, Defence partners, and the public. Your strong communication skills, proactive approach, and organisational ability will help ensure the smooth operation of our programs and alignment with committee policies and funding agreements.

Some core hours are required, but flexible scheduling is available for the right candidate. Occasional evening and weekend work will be needed to support community events and engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, promote, and deliver HCG events and activities for Defence families and the local community

• Manage HCG’s social media channels, website, and online booking platforms

• Coordinate and attend weekly social events, including playgroup sessions

• Support and advise the Executive Committee, attend meetings, and liaise with stakeholders (including DMFS)

• Oversee communications via the HCG email and phone

• Undertake additional tasks as directed by the Executive Committee

Essentials:

• Working with Childrens check (NSW)

• Current Drivers Licence and Vehicle

• Current first aid (or willing to obtain)

• Ability to gain clearance onto Holsworthy Barracks

• Capacity to work autonomously and take ownership of tasks
