Position Title: Transport Coordinator

Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time (30 hours per week – four days per week)

Location: Hunters Hill, Lane Cove

Salary: SCHADS Award Level 4

Position Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Transport Coordinator to oversee and manage transportation services within SCS and external hires, ensuring that consumers and services have access to reliable and efficient transportation options. This role involves planning and coordinating transportation programs, managing schedules and resources, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders to meet the transportation needs of the community. The Coordinator will also handle administrative tasks, promote community engagement, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development and Coordination: Develop, implement, and oversee community transportation programs and services, including scheduling, route planning, and service delivery.

Staff Coordination: Collaborate with SCS coordinators to identify transportation needs and schedule appropriate vehicles and drivers to meet service needs. Roster drivers and provide support to transport team.

Fleet Management: Manage transportation resources, including rostering and maintaining 13 vehicles, to ensure efficient and cost-effective service delivery.

Community Engagement: Engage with community members to understand their transportation needs, gather feedback, and promote available services and External Bus Hires.

Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of transportation services, including service usage, incident reports, and financial transactions. Prepare and present reports to stakeholders.

Compliance: Ensure that transportation services comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and organisational policies.

Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues or challenges related to transportation services in a timely and effective manner.

Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure the Transport team follows best practices in safety and environmental care.

Qualifications and skills:

Relevant qualifications in Community Services and/or relevant industry experience

Proven experience in Community Transport with leadership experience preferred

Advance driving and Work Health & Safety awareness.

Current NSW driver’s license

Current Heavy Vehicles License or willingness to obtain one

Bus Driver Authority or willingness to obtain one

First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one

Experience working with Point to Point Transport System

Ability to lead and motivate a team, with strong organisational and communication skills.

Effective listening and verbal skills and the use of discretion and confidentiality at all times.

Excellent time management, administrative and organisational skills.

Proven experience in Scheduling of staff and fleet vehicles

Participant focused and person-centred approach as well as the personal attributes of patience, flexibility, sound work ethics, discretion, cultural awareness, sensitivity and respect are required.

Ability to adapt to computer systems and software programs to ensure an efficient and effective service delivery to clients and participants.

Knowledge of current developments, new programmes and initiatives in the Aged Care and Disability Sectors.

Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check

National Disability Insurance Scheme Worker Check or willingness to obtain one
