Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for a Digital Support Specialist to join us in a permanent, full-time role. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. As Mater’s newest public hospital, this state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With 174 public beds, ICU, maternity, emergency and surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.
Salary range: $46.96 - $51.73 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
The Digital Support Specialist investigates and resolves complex requests and faults. They also provide technical guidance and mentoring on digital troubleshooting to Digital Support Officers. This role offers support through phone calls, in person, or messaging platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex desktop support faults and requests via various digital channels
- Prioritise unresolved tasks according to operating procedures and record actions taken
- Refer to Senior Digital Support Specialists for troubleshooting advice when needed
- Document faults and requests according to guidelines and provide guidance to Digital Support Officers
- Update Service Centre system and training documentation under guidance
- Identify gaps in documentation and work with technical resources to update/create knowledge
- Assist with routine inquiries and escalate urgent matters to appropriate management
- Provide after-hours desktop support on rotating on-call roster
- Provide guidance to Digital Support Officers on linking faults to problem and change records
- Lead investigation into low complexity problem records under guidance of Senior Support Specialists
- Perform installations and upgrades to IT equipment autonomously
- Participate in system upgrades and provide support for audio-visual, network, telephony, and mobile device faults
- Manage IT assets and mentor Digital Support Analysts on troubleshooting techniques and training opportunities
About you
The ideal candidate will have a Certificate II or III in Information Technology or equivalent work experience, ITIL V3 or 4 Foundation.
- Relevant Tertiary Degree, IT certifications like A+, Network+ and Microsoft Certified Professional
- Minimum 4 years of relevant IT experience required
- Experience in service desk, audio visual, and desktop support in large environments
- Client-focused service delivery skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft operating systems, active directory, networking, hardware installation, and support
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a team, maintain confidentiality, and handle high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication skills to interact with staff at all levels
