Re.Group is expanding our footprint across Queensland with multiple Material Recycling Facilities (MRF’s), including Townsville, Mackay, Sunshine Coast, Browns Plains and Rocklea. We are seeking a dedicated Work, Health & Safety Advisor to partner with our site teams and support the delivery of safe operations across this portfolio.

About the role

First 6 months: Support delivery and commissioning of our new Browns Plains MRF, including construction-phase WHS support, contractor safety assurance, and site readiness.

After 6 months / Ongoing: Transition into operational WHS advisory role across all QLD recycling facilities, providing safety coaching, compliance support, site audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Support site leaders to embed a Safety-First culture across all Queensland sites.

Provide proactive WHS advisory support across daily operations and site activities.

Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments; develop and follow up on corrective action plans.

Facilitate toolbox talks, pre-start meetings, and WHS engagement activities.

Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and implement improvements.

Support WHS systems, documentation and training including SWMS reviews and permit-to-work processes.

Monitor WHS performance metrics and prepare regular reporting.

Partner with operations leaders to build capability and ensure legislative compliance.

This role requires regular travel across Queensland sites and reports to the National HSE Manager.

About you

2–3 years’ experience in WHS/OHS advisory roles, ideally in construction, industrial or operational environments.

White Card – Construction Induction (mandatory).

First Aid / CPR (preferred).

Demonstrated experience supporting construction safety, contractor management and safe systems of work.

Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, incident investigation and hazard identification.

Ability to lead toolbox talks, deliver training and influence safe behaviours on site.

Strong communication, stakeholder management and reporting skills.

Ability to work autonomously across multiple locations with a proactive, hands-on approach.

Working at Heights and/or Lead Auditor qualifications (advantageous).

Commitment to zero harm, continuous improvement and building strong relationships with operational teams.
