The Company
We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Workplace Health & Safety Manager to lead safety across multiple farms and packhouse operations in Far North Queensland. This is a role for someone who thrives on building relationships, coaching leaders, and making safety a natural part of daily operations.

Please note this role is based in Far North Queensland and would require relocation.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of workplace health and safety across the region. You’ll partner with operational teams to foster a proactive safety culture, identify risks, and implement initiatives that improve the safety, wellbeing, and engagement of employees.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and support leaders to embed safe work practices and WHS accountability across all sites
  • Partner with Health & Safety Committees and employee representatives to improve safety culture
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented
  • Analyse safety data and trends to identify risks and drive preventative measures
  • Lead site inspections and audits to maintain safe work environments and compliance with legislation
  • Manage risk assessments, safe work procedures, and maintain the risk register
  • Deliver WHS reports and performance metrics to senior management
  • Coordinate safety training programs and induction processes for employees, contractors, and visitors

About You
You are a proactive, relationship-focused safety professional with the confidence to influence leaders and engage teams. You bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in WHS, preferably in agriculture, food manufacturing, or logistics
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in WHS or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and risk management processes
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or Lead/Internal Auditor training is desirable
