đ Make a Global Impact with Your Expertise in Diabetes Education
If youâre a seasoned diabetes educator looking to do meaningful work that reaches far beyond your local clinic, this might be the opportunity youâve been waiting for.
The Diabetes Australia Life for a Child program believes that no child should die of diabetes. Through our program, we support over 60,000 young people in 53 countries: providing life-saving supplies, education, and training to healthcare professionals in under-resourced settings. Now, weâre looking for a Diabetes Education & Training Officer to help us do it even better.
This is a full-time, permanent role based in our Glebe office in Sydney, with the flexibility to work hybrid because we know that balance matters.
What Youâll Be Doing
Youâll be working with the Education Manager to lead our education efforts for our global partners, helping healthcare professionals deliver better care to children and youth living with diabetes. Your work will include:
Developing and reviewing clinical guidelines and education resources tailored to diverse cultural contexts.
Managing and expanding our online education platform, including multilingual content and e-learning modules.
Supporting new partner centres with training and ongoing guidance.
Collaborating with international organisations like ISPAD and IDF to co-create impactful resources.
Reviewing clinical data received from supported centres and providing targeted feedback to improve care delivery.
Youâll also contribute to quarterly bulletins, policy development, and potentially research or quality improvement projects.
What Youâll Bring
Weâre looking for someone whoâs not just qualified but deeply committed to improving diabetes care globally.
Youâre a Registered Nurse and ADEA Credentialled Diabetes Educator with extensive experience in diabetes education and management.
Youâve developed training resources and delivered education to healthcare professionals.
Youâre culturally aware, adaptable, and comfortable working across borders and languages.
Youâre tech-savvy, organised, and confident navigating e-learning platforms and Microsoft Office.
Youâve worked with children and young adults with diabetes, and you understand the nuances of care in under-resourced settings.
âBonus points if youâve got experience in e-learning design or have worked internationally.
