Join the NSW Department of Education as a Liaison Officer (Clerk Grade 7/8)

We are excited to announce openings for multiple Liaison Officer (Communications) positions within our Curriculum directorate.

⦁ Location: Parramatta with access to various NSW Education offices and flexible working arrangements available
⦁ Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8 with base salary ranging from $113,574 to $125,720 per annum, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
⦁ 2 x Temporary full-time opportunity up to four (4) years, with possibility for extension or conversion to ongoing

About the Curriculum directorate
The Curriculum directorate is responsible for supporting the implementation of policies and design of high-quality evidence-based resources and tools to support curriculum implementation across P-12. We coordinate special programs, and we lead the department’s response to the NSW Curriculum Reform.

About the role
The Liaison Officer (Communications) will use their expertise and technical knowledge to understand business and technical issues and any impacts regarding proposed communication activities to existing business processes. The Liaison Officer will work closely with the team, to drive successful engagement, delivery and adoption of the communication initiatives for internal customers and target audiences.

About you
You are a proactive and collaborative communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills, able to build and maintain positive relationships across diverse teams and communities. With a keen understanding of complex communication environments, you provide insightful advice and practical solutions to support the successful delivery and adoption of programs. You thrive in a fast-paced setting, managing multiple priorities while effectively navigating competing demands and delivering results that align with strategic objectives. Your ability to influence, consult, and work inclusively ensures the voices of all stakeholders are heard and considered.

Key knowledge and experience:
⦁ Demonstrated knowledge in communication activities, including planning, stakeholder engagement and consultation activities, within a large, complex organisation-wide environment.
⦁ Ability to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships to support effective communication, including the ability to influence internal and external key stakeholders relating to complex and sensitive matters.
⦁ Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy
