About the Opportunity
This position sits at the intersection of health and urban planning, working to shape healthier built environments across South Western Sydney. It’s an opportunity to influence long-term population health outcomes by embedding health considerations into planning, policy, and development projects.
The position is with the Healthy Places team which sits within the broader Collaboration Unit, Population Health SWSLHD. The position works closely with local councils, NSW Government agencies, developers, community organisations, and internal SWSLHD teams. Collaboration is central, requiring cross-sector partnerships to ensure health is a priority in planning and development decisions. The position also contributes to District and Population Health strategic project and business priorities.
What You'll be Doing
The Senior Project Officer - Health Places contributes to healthy urban development and environments projects and strategies, supports business processes in Population Health with a specific focus in healthy places and relationships with local government and contributes to district and population health strategic priority projects and business priorities of the Collaboration Unit.

SWSLHD Population Health aims to protect and promote the health of the local population, reduce health inequalities, and achieve optimal health and wellbeing for all residents of South Western Sydney.
The services provided include prevention, early intervention, and health promotion programs designed to help individuals and families adopt healthy behaviours and avoid illness. The team works in partnership with the community to create health-promoting physical and social environments, ensuring accessible, fair, and culturally appropriate services.

Tertiary qualifications in relevant health-related discipline or relevant experience.
High level understanding of evidence-based practice, healthy urban development, health outcome measurement, and emerging trends in the Australian health care system.
Demonstrated high level analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to gather, analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative information.
Demonstrated experience in health service planning, and/or policy development, and/or project management and/or health services research.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
