Unique U Psychology is a welcoming and inclusive private psychology clinic that recognises and appreciates the unique characteristics of an internalised (high-masking) autistic presentation- commonly seen in autistic girls and women, and gender diverse folks.
There are 2 roles to fill: Psychologist and Senior Clinical Psychologist
1.Psychologist role: includes individual therapy and diagnostic assessment work, with admin time provided to work on reports/letters. We also run groups from time to time. There are also extra career development opportunities for those who aspire for more- such as supervising other psychologists, providing presentations in the community, writing new groups etc. We are particularly interested in psychologists who work with children.
2.Senior Clinical Psychologist role: includes a mixed case load of client work and leadership tasks. Client work involves therapy and assessment clients and the other component of the role will involve providing supervision to junior clinicians and other leadership tasks designed in collaboration with the Clinic Director .
The successful applicants must be friendly and engaging, have excellent knowledge about the neurodiversity paradigm, be experienced working with autistic clients and their families, have outstanding communication and written skills, and be passionate about empowering autistic folk. Experience working with ADHD, trauma, eating disorders, and with the LGBTQIA+ community will be greatly valued. Neurodivergent psychologists with lived-experience, and provisional psychologists are encouraged to apply. Full time and part-time (at least 3 days a week) positions are available. We are open 6 days: Mondays- Saturdays. A Saturday allowance bonus is provided for those who wish to work on Saturdays.
Candidates must have a minimum of 3+ years of experience working with autistic clients.
The successful applicant will be provided with:
-Training on high masking autistic presentations, including diagnostic assessment
-Regular scheduled individual/group supervision
-Client work that includes individual therapy, assessment, and group therapy
-The option for flexible work hours- in-clinic sessions and Telehealth (work from home)
-Full administrative support
-The opportunity to work collaboratively with friendly, passionate and like-minded professionals
