The Youth Mind Collective is a values-driven psychology practice based in Geelong, dedicated to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children, adolescents, and their families. The Role
We are seeking a passionate and thoughtful Child and Adolescent Psychologist to join our team. This role involves delivering evidence-based therapeutic support and psychological assessments, contributing to a collaborative team culture, and making a real difference in the lives of young people.
We welcome applications from both full-time and part-time clinicians (employed position with leave entitlements).
About You
You are a reflective, compassionate clinician who values collaboration and evidence-based care. You thrive in small teams, enjoy working with families and schools, and are committed to supporting young people's strengths and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individualised therapy to children and adolescents (CBT, ACT, play-based, mindfulness)
Conduct cognitive, educational, and behavioural assessments and produce clear, strengths-focused reports
Collaborate with families, schools, and other professionals
Deliver services under NDIS and Medicare frameworks
Maintain accurate, timely clinical records
Engage in supervision, PD, and reflective practice
Essential Criteria
General registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA
Minimum 2 years of experience working with children and adolescents, including assessment and therapeutic intervention
Demonstrated experience in conducting cognitive, educational, and behavioural assessments (including ADHD, autism, and learning disorder evaluations)
A neurodiversity-affirming, inclusive clinical approach
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Cultural competence and the ability to work with diverse families
Commitment to ethical, client-centred care
Willingness to work from our Geelong CBD office and attend schools/kindergartens as needed
A registered, insured vehicle and current driver's licence
Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
Professional indemnity and public liability insurance
Medicare eligibility or active provider number registration is acceptable
Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa with unrestricted work rights
Desirable Criteria
Experience working with neurodivergent clients and/or in trauma-informed care
Familiarity with NDIS frameworks and service delivery
Previous experience in educational or school settings
Willingness to contribute to community outreach or parent education initiatives
Interest in multidisciplinary collaboration and service development
Membership with APS, AAPi, or similar professional body
Educational and Developmental endorsement highly desirable
Proficiency in ADOS-2 not essential but desirable
