We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fitter Machinist / Toolmaker to join our metal fabrication team. This hands-on role involves interpreting engineering drawings, operating machining tools, assembling metal parts, and maintaining precision equipment and tools. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.

Fabricate, modify, and assemble components to precise tolerances.

Manufacture and repair tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures for production.

Conduct measurements and inspections to ensure parts meet required specifications.

Perform fitting and machining of mechanical components for plant equipment or custom fabrication jobs.

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair workshop equipment and machinery.

Work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and production staff to meet project timelines.

Follow all WHS/OHS regulations and maintain a safe, clean work environment.

Requirements:

Trade qualification in Fitting & Machining, Toolmaking, or related discipline (Certificate III or IV).

Proven experience in a toolroom, workshop, or metal fabrication environment.

Proficiency with precision measurement instruments .

Sound knowledge of metals and machining processes.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Experience in forging, will be a bonus.
