The successful candidate will:

Have experience managing high level challenging behaviour

Effectively implement clinical plans to support the personal growth, skills development and health of the clients

Be able to work independently

Contribute to the continual improvement of service delivery through insightful contributions to meetings and via excellent written skills

Develop candid, productive relationships with resident, parents, colleagues and clinicians.

Skills/Attributes

Display a caring, calm, patient and resilient demeanour

Background in mental health and/or challenging behaviours essential

Driver's license essential

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and individually

Ongoing training and support will be provided so we are looking for long term employees who can give at least a 2 year commitment

Must be triple vaccinated for COVID 19

Display a creative and energetic approach supporting clients in the home and community

Effectively implement positive behaviour support plans for challenging behaviours

Initiate daily operational tasks within the house including cooking, cleaning and washing

Enjoyment of music, cooking, art and craft

Create a safe, positive and fun environment

Demonstrate the ability to be outcome focused

Competent communication and writing skills

Willingness to cover various shifts when required

Ability to attend initial training at the house and ongoing training as well as attend monthly staff meetings

Qualifications

· At least Certificate III in Disability or at least two years of highly relevant experience
