OUI Recruitment is partnering with a nationally based IT services company seeking a customer service-driven Systems Engineer. This role offers a balanced mix of remote and onsite support, covering both BAU operations and project-based work. Roles and Responsibilities:

Deliver remote and onsite support to clients across various industries

Manage BAU support tickets alongside project implementations

Design and deploy infrastructure solutions including firewalls and virtualised environments

Plan and execute Microsoft 365 migrations

Administer virtualisation platforms including Hyper-V, Proxmox, and VMware

Implement Desktop-as-a-Service and remote desktop solutions

Configure backup and disaster recovery solutions using Veeam

Administer SQL Server and MySQL databases

Implement and support VoIP telephony systems including 3CX

Maintain monitoring and logging systems

Coordinate migrations to minimise client downtime

Provide escalation support for complex technical issues

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing

Role Requirements:

Proven experience in a systems engineering or senior support role

Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities

Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms

Experience providing both remote and onsite support

Solid networking fundamentals and troubleshooting skills

Valid driver's licence for client visits

Strong documentation skills and attention to detail

Technical Requirements:

Microsoft 365 administration (Intune, SharePoint, Exchange Online, OneDrive)

Cloud platforms, particularly Azure and Entra ID

Windows Server administration (2012 onwards)

Virtualisation technologies (Hyper-V, Proxmox, VMware)

Backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, StorageCraft, Shadow Protect)

Networking including Cisco switching and firewalls (Sophos, Fortinet)

VoIP systems, particularly 3CX

RMM and PSA platforms (ConnectWise, ITGlue, LabTech)

Database administration (SQL Server, MySQL)

Active Directory and Group Policy

Monitoring systems (Zabbix, Grafana)
