The Role
Join the Town as the Accountant of the Finance Team and assist in maintaining the financial system and provide quality financial reporting. The role is responsible for accuracy of financial ledgers, supports budget and financial statement preparation and ensures legislative and audit requirements. Along with the dynamic Finance team, they assist with continual provision of high quality customer service across the Town. Apply now!
Selection Criteria
The successful candidate’s core values will mirror the Town’s values of Friendly and helpful, Teamwork, Creativity, Integrity, and Respect, and be able to demonstrate the following:
Previous experience working with a computerised accounting system; local government experience would be highly desirable. Technology One experience very highly regarded.
Demonstrated knowledge of the practical application of accounting principles and accounting requirements, including those for GST and FBT.
Interpersonal and communication skills to provide high quality internal and external customer service; work collaboratively with a team.
Effective time management and organisational skills to manage workflow and to provide guidance to the team.
Analytical skills to assess business requirements related to financial services and solve associated problems.
Demonstrated computer literacy to use systems and software including MS Word and Excel to develop reports and correspondence to support effective accounts payable and receivable.
Essential:
Current National Police Clearance is essential.
Tertiary qualifications in accounting, business, administration, or similar is essential
Australian working rights.
