Salary: $77,000 – $82,000 pa
The Role
Bread is the heart and soul of Laurent. We craft authentic French breads, based on time-honoured recipes and contemporary breads using the finest ingredients. With 25 years of success, 18 retail outlets, 2 manufacturing facilities and over 500 employees; quality is our life. We are looking for trade qualified Bakers, who have a strong background with hand moulding/mixing. You will be part of the team responsible for the preparation and baking of our traditional European & Artisan style breads.
Key Responsibilities
Moulding, mixing, maturing our Artisan breads
Bread and pastry production, operating commercial mixers and moulding equipment
Dough preparation including checking raw materials, kneading and weighing ingredients
Using ovens and monitoring temperature
Following standard recipes and procedures
Upholding health & safety standards
Ensuring cleanliness and organisation of the prep area
Other baking and kitchen duties as reasonably requested
Weekend and public holiday work may be required
What You Bring
Relevant qualifications, such as Certificate III in Baking (or equivalent), along with 2 years’ experience as a Qualified Baker
Alternatively, at least 3 years of experience as a Qualified Baker, if no formal qualifications
Experience tradition European & Artisan style baking highly preferred
Be willing to learn and excel in your profession
Be comfortable working in a fast-paced food production environment
Have some knowledge of HACCP quality systems and be quality focused
Ideally have experience machine operating
Flexible for shift work and weekend and public holiday work may be required

Remuneration: $77,000 – $82,000pa excl super (this includes all guaranteed shift loadings). Employment contracts are issued as hourly rate contracts.
