EXPERIENCED MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST WANTED! 25-35 hours per week.

Sight Specialists (www.sightspecialists.com.au) is a specialist ophthalmology clinic located in Southport, Gold Coast. We pride ourselves in delivering patient care at the highest level in a manner that is personalised and patient-centred. We are currently seeking an experienced medical receptionist to join our team ASAP!

The role is permanent part time and paid well above the Award rate. You will also have access to free undercover car parking.

We require a team-player who enjoys working in a busy and professional team environment. Ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills, a warm nature, and a fundamental emphasis on customer service. Important attributes include the ability to multi-task, use initiative, and pay attention to detail.

MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST

Essential personal skills:

Excellent phone manner and ability to assist with patient enquiries in a helpful and friendly manner

Excellent written and verbal communication with good spelling and grammar

Attention to detail

Reliable, efficient and ability to multi-task

A positive and proactive attitude

The ability to work autonomously and be able to liaise effectively with other team members, health care professionals and hospitals.

The ability to use initiative and trouble-shoot

A desire to learn and improve

A fast learner, as additional training on systems and processes will be provided

Ability to show empathy and understanding to patients

Main scope of work:

Answering phones, scheduling appointments and assisting with patient queries

Processing of patient accounts (handling of cash and EFTPOS transactions)

Patient liaison (helping patients feel welcome and comfortable)

Setting up and shutting down of all equipment

Preparing upcoming clinics including administration of all surgery paperwork

Willingness to cross train in other areas of the practice

Assist with everyday tasks
