Overview of role:
The vision for the Major Projects Department is to deliver an integrated, sustainable, reliable, and future proofed infrastructure for the townships within the Coliban Water region. As the Commercial Lead for the Major Projects Department, your role will be focussed and responsible for successfully leading commercial and contract management for Major Projects, providing strategic leadership across finance, contracts, and project delivery to ensure compliance, accountability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead commercial development & review of program delivery, including renewals, and partnerships for complex projects (design, construction, operations, and maintenance of infrastructure assets).
- Lead the transactional and contract delivery management of desired outcomes across Major Projects including both the Bendigo & Castlemaine WRP Upgrades.
- Develop project plans in collaboration with Project Managers and teams to ensure program, projects, and contractors are managed according to integrated quality and financial standards.
- Provide commercial reviews of individual project designs, documentation, and implementation plans.
About you:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, finance, economics, business management, law, or related discipline.
- CA/CPA qualified desirable but not essential.
- Proven specialised experience (at least 10 years) in commercial, procurement, supplier, and contract management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Victorian Government commercial requirements and practical experience integrating them into a business and/or experience developing and implementing business processes and improvements for procurement.
- Proven experience with managing commercial transactions above $20 million dollars.

Salary:
The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2021 Band 5 $115,162- $139,851 + superannuation salary range will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience. This role is a Fulltime 3-year fixed term position.

Coliban Water was established on July 1, 1992 under the Water Act 1989 as a Regional Urban Water Authority.
Coliban Region Water Authority became the Coliban Region Water Corporation on July 1, 2007.
The Corporation is responsible to the Minister for Water, the Hon Lisa Neville MP, and our shareholder is the Victorian Government.
We are one of the larger Victorian Regional urban water corporations.
We manage, maintain and operate 35 reservoirs and water storage basins across North-Central Victoria and provide water and wastewater services to rural and urban customers across an area of 16,550 sqkm.
Our service region includes 49 towns, extending from Cohuna and Echuca in the north to Kyneton and Trentham in the south.
The western boundary incorporates Boort, Wedderburn, Bealiba and Dunolly and the eastern boundary includes Heathcote and Tooborac.
