The West Gate Tunnel Project will give Melbourne a second freeway link between the west and the city - providing a much-needed alternative to the West Gate Bridge and a vital second river crossing.

North East Link will fix the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network with new 6.5 km tunnels from Watsonia to Bulleen. We're also overhauling the Eastern Freeway and completing the M80 Ring Road at Greensborough.

Big Build Roads are also delivering dozens of new roads, bridges, road widening projects and major freeway upgrades.

Job description:

Join us in building better connections for Victoria by:

• Providing strategic commercial advice to project team(s) to ensure effective risk and contract management and proactively identify and address potential commercial exposures.
• Analysing and assessing claims for compensation arising from business disruption, scope variations, differing site conditions, delay, disruption and acceleration, escalation and force majeure as necessary.
• Negotiating and liaising with key stakeholders on any commercial related issues.
• Providing general advice and assistance as required on commercial, financial, risk and policy related issues.
• Implementing the contract management and administration function, including contract management systems and processes, for the respective works package.

The Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing and providing advice on all commercial aspects of the project(s) including project agreements to deliver the project(s), management of commercial risks and issues, coordinating interfaces with other project elements and contract management at various stages of the project(s).

This position is wholly embedded into a project delivery team as part of a matrix structure, providing expert commercial advice, ensuring that project deliverables are met in line with Government policies and legislation. This role will work collaboratively with other members of the Commercial team to ensure consistent delivery of commercial services across the organisation and may be required to work across any of the projects being delivered by VIDA Roads. About You

• A relevant tertiary qualification in economics, finance, commerce, accounting, business, management, engineering, law or a related field will be highly regarded.
• Experience in directing and influencing multi-disciplinary teams, consultants and contractors to deliver high quality outcomes.

This opportunity is a 3 year fixed-term. It will be a requirement to travel and spend time at one or all our site offices.
