The Role
Port Hedland PS is seeking a highly efficient and self-motivated individual who will ideally maintain a warm, and professional manner and will undertake a variety of administrative duties. To be successful in this role you will be committed, team oriented and professional whilst undertaking a variety of administrative duties.
The successful applicant will ideally display strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities, these include greeting visitors, responding to enquiries, supporting student enrolment processes, and maintaining accurate records. We highly value applicants with experience and a good understanding of relevant systems. Additionally, those possess excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to work cooperatively with others to create and maintain a welcoming and vibrant environment for students and families while being a supportive, capable team member are encouraged to apply.
As a School Officer, you have the opportunity to interact with empathy and professionalism within a diverse school community and with a range of government and outside agencies. We are looking for a friendly and welcoming school officer who will be this first point of contact for our school.
As the School Officer you will be responsible for supporting the Manager Corporate Services in administering the schools financial, physical, and human resources whilst upholding confidentiality and security of sensitive material. You will aid other members of the school administration team with maintaining school databases, records and management information systems to ensure they are accurate and up to date, along with general word processing tasks.
The successful applicant may be required to perform duties such as assisting with the maintenance of school facilities, assets and resources, including reporting faults, organising repairs and assisting with stock takes. Experience using Seesaw, COMPASS and school website maintenance would be advantageous; although this is not essential as we are willing to teach the successful applicant.
In addition, the ability to use various technology platforms and a range of application software packages to support service demands of our school business, and in particular our departments, online environments. As the successful applicant you will preferably have experience in the use of School Information System (SIS / Integris), RM Billing software, RM Finance (including end of month procedures) and HRMIS. The ability to create spreadsheets, website management and data management will also be highly regarded.
Possessing a friendly, positive, caring attitude with excellent oral and written communication skills will assist you in working with our positively motivated school staff and community.
You will ideally have the skills to competently work independently without supervision or direction with an excellent focus on a welcoming demeanour and team-work, embracing Port Hedland Primary School’s vision of ‘Working Together to Encourage Lifelong Learning in an Inclusive, Safe and Respectful Environment.’

- Good verbal and written communication skills and experience in the application of customer service principles and practices.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
