Ruby Red Flamingo is an award winning Italian restaurant located in a unique and beautiful historic building and garden. We require a highly motivated and skilled Chef with a passion for Italian culinary excellence to join Ruby Red Flamingo on a full-time basis. You will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and production of our authentic Italian dishes and management of our kitchen and kitchen team.

About the role

Duties:

Plan, direct and supervise food preparation and cooking to ensure consistently high-quality menu items are produced.

Prepare and cook menus to a high standard

Create and plan Italian cuisine-based menus.

Manage Kitchen costs and actively contribute to and develop strategies that ensure the achievement of high quality standards, business objectives and profit targets.

Manage and train kitchen staff.

Ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety, food safety and HACCAP requirements.

Skills and experience

At least three years plus experience as a Chef managing restaurant kitchens.

Highly developed skills in Italian cuisine cooking techniques.

Strong ability in menu development, planning and costing.

Ability to lead and inspire other kitchen staff to consistently produce high quality menu items.

Highly Developed organisation, communication and presentation skills.

Previous experience as a Chef in high quality Italian restaurants.
