About the role

WPC Group and NextGen Jobs are on the lookout for a motivated, people-focused professional to join our team as a Business Development Officer. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to continue their career in business development or workforce development.

Reporting to the Group Operations Manager, you will play a key role in helping us grow, recruiting for the right opportunities and building strong relationships with local employers.

This role focuses on business development while ensuring high-quality administrative and customer service delivery, and you will be learning and gaining experience across the board.

You'll be taking ownership of growth initiatives to expand our employer network and create new opportunities for apprentices and trainees.

Success in this role will be measured through achieving monthly employer outreach targets, conversion of leads into active partnerships, and growth of apprenticeship placements across South Australia.

Key responsibilities:

Business Development & Employer Engagement

Proactively contact new employers and promote our programs.

Research industry trends and find new leads.

Build and maintain strong employer relationships.

Support outreach strategies to grow workforce development opportunities.

Prepare proposals and promotional materials for clients.

Leverage our CRM to track growth opportunities and build a pipeline of engaged employers.

Represent us at expos, events, and community forums.

Meet monthly outreach and lead generation targets.

Convert leads into signed employer partnerships.

Contribute to quarterly growth goals in apprenticeships and traineeships.

Customer Service & Stakeholder Engagement

Respond to enquiries from employers, apprentices, and the public.

Deliver friendly, professional service every step of the way.

Build lasting relationships and support our growing network.

About You

You are commercially minded, results-driven, and thrive in building relationships that lead to tangible outcomes. You're confident diving into market research, running sharp email campaigns, and making impactful face-to-face introductions—supported every step of the way by our national business development team.
