Be the new face of Farm Safety.

The Victorian Farmers Federation (VFF) is a dynamic and influential organization committed to supporting farmers and rural communities across Victoria. We are seeking a passionate and experienced professional for the new Farm Safety Officer position.

This new position will play a key role in delivering on-farm services, whilst attending public events for an established and renowned Making Our Farms Safety program which is designed to improve safety for farmers, and their families.

About you:

You are an experienced OH&S professional who can provide pragmatic advice. You thrive on direct engagement with business owners and promoting health and safety initiatives.

We are seeking someone with demonstrated experience of current OHS legislative requirements and issues that affect agricultural farming businesses, and a person with a genuine interest in promoting farm safety.

You will be working with an internal team of project managers, marketing, and communications specialists, along with external stakeholders, such as farmers and farming communities throughout Victoria.

Responsibilities:

As the Farm Safety Officer, you will:

Support on-farm safety initiatives to assist with the development and implementation of OHS programs, whilst providing pragmatic advice and recommendations to farmers.

Assist with the coordination of public events to help raise awareness about farm safety, whilst working with government bodies, industry stakeholders, and the broader agricultural community.

Assist in the development of OHS training and education programs for farmers.

Work with external stakeholders such as government agencies, industry partners, and community organizations to promote the Making Our Farms Safety Program and the effectiveness of farm safety initiatives.

Prepare the collection and analysis of data related to farm safety and contribute to the continuous improvement of programs.

Develop health and safety practices that prioritize the well-being of farmers and rural communities.

Requirements:

Demonstrated experience in agricultural farm safety, occupational health and safety or related fields, with a minimum of three years of experience.

Relevant qualifications in occupational health and safety, agriculture, or a related field.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Regular travel throughout Victoria may be required with occasional overnight stays.
