Due to continued growth this dynamic privately owned business is seeking a, Environment, Health and Safety Manager to join their team. This newly created position offers a unique opportunity to build and implement EHS strategies from the ground up, directly impacting the company's growth and success.
Position Overview:
As the EHS Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive EHS management system across diverse operations including contracting, building/construction, manufacturing, quarrying/mining, and paving. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape safety culture and drive environmental initiatives in a growing organization with a 25-year legacy of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Health and Safety:
- Develop and implement WHS policies, procedures, and programs
- Support iCIRT certification through best practice WHS and Environment strategies
- Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations
- Deliver WHS training programs and manage workers' compensation
- Collaborate with project managers to integrate WHS into all operations
Environmental Management:
- Implement an Environmental Management System (EMS)
- Establish waste management, water conservation, and dust control programs
- Develop plans for chemical management and environmental incident response
- Conduct environmental audits and deliver awareness training
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Minimum 7 years' experience in HSE leadership roles
- Proven track record in developing and implementing HSE management systems
- In-depth knowledge of WHS and Environmental legislation across multiple jurisdictions
- Hands-on experience managing safety in high-density property construction projects
