McGuires Hotel is a cornerstone of Mackay’s live entertainment and nightlife experience. A large, multi-bar venue combining live music, entertainment, pool hall action, and a loyal late-night crowd. We’re known for our atmosphere, events, and the high calibre of experiences we bring to our community every week.

We’re now looking for an experienced Venue Manager (Night) to take charge of the venue after dark - leading the bar and floor team, managing entertainment operations, and keeping the night running smoothly from first pour to lights out.

The Role

This is a leadership role for someone who thrives under pressure and has a high attention to detail.
You’ll be responsible for:

Running the full venue operation during night trade

Managing and motivating bar, security, and floor staff

Overseeing live entertainment and late-night event logistics

Maintaining RSA, OLGR, and safety compliance at all times

Handling cash, stock, and close-of-day reporting

Supporting the Venue Manager and ownership team with event execution and team development

You’ll be the go-to person during high-energy, high-volume events and keeping the team sharp, the venue safe, and the experience outstanding.

About You

You’re confident, calm, and experienced in managing busy night venues. You can lead from the floor, make quick calls, and maintain strong relationships with staff, security, performers and our valued patrons.

You’ll bring:

3+ years in a leadership or management role within pubs, clubs, or hotels

Strong people and communication skills — you lead by example

Understanding of venue compliance and reporting

Current RSA and RMLV (and be an approved manager)

A genuine passion for nightlife, live entertainment, and creating memorable experiences
