ACCOMMODATION MANAGER

We are in beautiful Lorne Victoria on the Great Ocean Road. Lorne Bush House Cottages and Eco Retreats are a nature based tourism accommodation business offering a variety of accommodation including our glamping Eco Retreats. We are set on 13 acres in the Lorne hinterland just 4 mins drive from the beach shops and restaurants. We have excellent online ratings, so attract both local and international guests who are looking to enjoy the natural environment and local wildlife. As our wonderful manager is going home to WA we are looking for a hospitality manager to manage and operate all aspects of the business.

The successful applicant must have:

A degree or appropriate qualification in Tourism Management or Tourism Service

A proven history of working in the Tourism Industry

Be able to maintain a well engaged and positive working culture

Willingness to learn our systems

Be trustworthy and work autonomously

Strong knowledge of online booking systems, word and excel

Experience with working with online travel agencies including booking.com, Expedia and Airbnb

Ability to live onsite, work weekends and public holidays

About the position

As the manager you are the driving force of the business. This hands on cottage management position is pivotal to ensuring smooth daily operations, maximizing average daily rate (ADR) and occupancy levels and maintaining compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. You will play a major role in driving business success while delivering exceptional service to our guests. Duties include taking bookings, banking, updating facebook and instagram, understanding tourism demand and applying marketing to increase occupancy rates. Managing staff and supervising house keeping, ordering supplies and cleaning products, firewood and linen, liasing with guests in relation to their needs, the wildlife on the property and attractions in Lorne and along the Great Ocean Road and report back to the owners on an as need basis. This is a live in position with on call duties.
