Operations Manager – Aged Care Equipment & Warehouse Operations
CareWell Health | Full-time | Sydney, NSW
Are you a hands-on operations professional who thrives on keeping things running smoothly and leading a team that makes a real difference in people’s lives?
At CareWell Health, we’re a trusted Australian provider of aged care and medical equipment—supplying hospitals, aged care facilities and community clients with the products that support dignity and comfort every day.
We’re looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to take ownership of our warehouse operations and logistics, ensuring that every order, delivery and installation runs smoothly from start to finish.
About the Role
As our Operations Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day running of our warehouse and logistics operations, leading a small but dedicated team. You’ll ensure our customers’ orders are fulfilled accurately and our logistics run efficiently across Australia.
This is a varied, hands-on leadership role where no two days are the same. You’ll combine people management, process improvement and logistical coordination to keep our operations running at their best.
While this is a leadership position, there will be times when you’ll roll up your sleeves to keep things moving - whether it’s helping with a delivery or jumping in to solve a warehouse challenge. We value leaders who are approachable and proactive.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor and support the warehouse team to achieve daily operational targets and maintain high standards of performance and safety.
Oversee scheduling, task allocation and workload balancing to ensure smooth daily operations.
Promote a positive, accountable and collaborative team culture.
Conduct regular performance reviews and training to upskill staff and ensure compliance with operational procedures.
Order Coordination & Delivery Management
Oversee the end-to-end fulfilment process for customer orders, ensuring all deliveries are dispatched accurately and on time.
Liaise closely with the Sales, Operations and Customer Service teams to prioritise urgent or complex orders.
Coordinate local and interstate deliveries, ensuring the right equipment and documentation accompany each order.
Monitor transport performance and work with courier and freight providers to ensure reliability and cost-effectiveness.
Occasionally assist with deliveries to local aged care facilities when needed.
Customer & Internal Support
Ensure queries from staff and customers are actioned promptly, providing clear communication and timely resolutions.
Support the team with troubleshooting operational or stock-related issues.
Collaborate with the Customer Service team to maintain high service standards and proactive communication with clients.
Identify recurring issues and implement process improvements to reduce future disruptions.
Warehouse Efficiency
Take ownership of incoming goods, including container unloads, ensuring items are received and recorded correctly.
Plan and book casual staff for container unloads and other high-volume periods.
Ensure all temporary staff are inducted, supervised and meet safety standards.
Oversee regular cycle counts and full stocktakes, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
Identify opportunities to improve layout, processes and systems to maximise warehouse efficiency.
Source pallets and other warehouse consumables cost-effectively and ahead of time.
Compliance, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Ensure warehouse and logistics operations comply with WHS standards and company policies.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery accuracy, order turnaround and stock health.
Conduct regular safety checks and maintain records of equipment and site safety.
Lead or contribute to process improvement projects to enhance service delivery and operational performance.
Support management with forecasting, planning and resourcing decisions to meet operational needs.
About You
You’re proactive, organised and thrive in a role where you can see the impact of your work every day. You enjoy problem-solving, leading teams and keeping operations efficient and reliable.
We’re looking for someone who:
Has experience in warehouse or logistics management.
Is confident coordinating teams, deliveries and stock movements.
Communicates clearly and builds strong relationships across departments.
Is comfortable being hands-on when needed.
Holds a valid driver’s licence (and ideally a forklift licence).
Why Join CareWell Health?
