About the role

We’re on the lookout for a Billing & Collections Officer to join our buzzing Melbourne office! This is your chance to be part of a collaborative, high-performing team that keeps our billing and collections running smoothly.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of customer accounts, ensuring invoices are accurate, payments are collected on time, and customers receive exceptional service every step of the way. It’s a role that blends numbers, people skills, and problem-solving — all while contributing to Telair’s financial success.

What you'll be doing

Handling customer billing and collections inquiries with a proactive and customer-focused approach.

Investigating and resolving billing discrepancies while professionally managing customer disputes.

Contacting customers with overdue accounts to arrange payment and negotiate settlements.

Administering payment extensions, account suspensions, and service disconnections in line with company policies.

Maintaining accurate records of all billing transactions, customer interactions, and payment histories.

Identifying and escalating high-risk accounts for further review and action.

Providing exceptional customer service by offering practical payment solutions that support customers in meeting their financial commitments.

Working closely with internal teams to refine billing processes and improve overall efficiency in collections.

What we're looking for

1-2 years of experience in a similar collections or billing role

Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally

Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping abilities

Proficiency in using customer relationship management (CRM) systems

A customer-centric mindset and a commitment to finding solutions that work for both the customer and the company
