About the Role:
Are you passionate about fairness, integrity, and supporting a positive student experience? As a Student Conduct Officer, you’ll play a vital role in promoting a respectful and accountable university community.
In this dynamic role, you’ll coordinate and support all aspects of student conduct matters, from managing case lodgements and providing advice to staff and students, to supporting Student Discipline Panel processes and ensuring outcomes are applied efficiently. You’ll be the key point of contact for conduct-related enquiries, helping to navigate complex situations with empathy, professionalism, and a strong commitment to policy and procedural integrity.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Act as the first point of contact for student misconduct matters.
- Provide clear, accurate and timely advice and guidance to staff and students in line with the University’s Misconduct Rules.
- Liaise regularly with students and staff to provide feedback, address queries, and resolve issues arising throughout the misconduct process.
- Coordinate the end-to-end management of student misconduct cases, including referrals, communication, and collaboration with Schools and the Student Conduct Team to ensure consistency, fairness and compliance with policy.
- Manage student requests for review and appeal, and supporting assessors, panels and committees in the consideration and hearing of cases.

- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality correspondence and documentation.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships at all levels.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively, contributing to a solution-focused, collegial, and values-driven team culture.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment.
- Experience working within a tertiary education or government environment (desirable).
- Experience using large, custom-built record management systems or similar databases (desirable).
Role Requirements:
- As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role

The Office of the Academic Registrar at Curtin University supports and facilitates the universities governance functions, with regard to both internal and external reporting requirements.
