About the Role
As General Manager – Construction Operations, you’ll take full control of the day-to-day running of the construction and operations departments.
You’ll oversee supervisors, scheduling, estimating, and admin teams to ensure all homes are delivered within the company’s 16-week build program without compromise on quality or communication.
This is a hands-on leadership position.
You’ll lead from the front, drive accountability, refine systems, and ensure every part of the operation runs with precision.
The Director is looking for someone who can confidently step in and own the delivery arm of the business creating structure, consistency, and results.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the full construction and operations team, including supervisors, schedulers, and admin.
Ensure homes are delivered within 16-week timeframes through strong planning and performance management.
Recruit, train, and mentor team members while maintaining clear accountability standards.
Refine and enforce internal systems, procedures, and quality controls.
Oversee supplier performance, pricing negotiations, and buying efficiencies.
Run weekly production and scheduling meetings to maintain momentum across all projects.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and profitability.
Report directly to the Director on build progress, operational metrics, and team performance.
About You
You’re a proven construction leader who thrives on structure and accountability
You’ve managed growing teams before and understand the systems, discipline, and culture required to deliver consistent build times.
You’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get the job done but you’re also capable of leading others to perform at their best.
You’ll bring:
Minimum 10 years’ experience in residential construction, with at least 5 years leading operations or construction delivery for 100–200 homes annually.
Strong understanding of build programs, scheduling, and site workflow.
Leadership experience with proven success in building and managing high-performing teams.
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
Proficiency with Onsite Companion or similar project management systems.
A solutions-focused, no-excuses attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
