We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager – Traffic Management to oversee and optimise our traffic management operations across the South East QLD and Nth NSW in conjunction with a highly performing RTO. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient planning, coordination, and execution of traffic control services while maintaining compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.Key

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day traffic management operations, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and safely.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Manage a team of traffic controllers, supervisors, and support staff, ensuring optimal workforce allocation.

Ensure Quality Assurance within the organisation is maintained at a high standard.

Develop and implement traffic management plans (TMPs) in accordance with Queensland Transport and Main Roads (TMR) regulations.

Ensure compliance with AS1742.3 and other relevant industry standards.

Liaise with clients, contractors, and local authorities to coordinate traffic management solutions.

Need to display a high level of experienced in the use of TRAFFIO.

Conduct risk assessments and site audits to uphold safety standards.

Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including sourcing, interviewing, and selecting candidates for various traffic management roles.

Manage budgets, operational costs, and resource allocation to maximise efficiency.

Oversee the onboarding process to ensure new hires are effectively integrated into the company.

Maintain and update permits, approvals, and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.

Train and mentor staff, fostering a strong safety culture within the team.

Maintains open communication with Directors.

Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, ensuring minimal disruption to projects.

Experience in developing and implementing operational strategies, procedures, and policies.

Experience in risk management, identifying potential hazards, and implementing mitigation strategies.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience in traffic management operations, preferably in a leadership role.

Strong understanding of TMR regulations, MUTCD (Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices), and Austroads guidelines.

Experience in developing Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS) and Traffic Management Plans (TMPs).

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks effectively.

Proficiency in traffic management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong focus on safety and compliance.

Qualifications & Requirements

Traffic Management Implementation (TMI) or Traffic Management Designer (TMD) certification (preferred).

Construction White Card.

Current Driver's Licence

Valid car licence (C class) is required for this position.

First Aid & CPR certification (desirable).

Experience with auditing and compliance processes.

Australian work authorisation is required at the time of application.
