Principal Governance Lead - M365

Location : Parramatta - Hybrid working
Primary purpose of the role
This role ensures that M365 platforms including SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, Microsoft Fabric, and VIVA are governed in alignments with the legislation and regulatory requirements, ensuring a positive contribution of ICT to the organization's goals and objectives in the delivery of secure and reliable systems.
Key accountabilities
- Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of the M365 Governance Framework, for SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, Viva Engage and Microsoft Fabric.
- Lead and provide advice for policies and procedures related to site creation, sharing and permissions, naming conventions, data retention, sensitivity labelling, and external collaboration.
- Define and maintain the relevant governance frameworks, policies and lifecycle management control for M365 Services.
- Implement governance documentation and playbooks for global admins and site owners.
- Provide advice controls for Data Loss Prevention (DLP), information classification, and compliance.
- Manage, review and assess ICT controls to ensure identified risks are managed appropriately and maintain the ongoing effectiveness of standards and control mechanisms for M365 Platforms.
- Establish and lead an M365 Community of Practice involving stakeholders of ICT.
- Participate in AI governance committees and working groups to align Copilot strategy with broader digital transformation goals.
- Provide advice for Copilot governance frameworks, including risk assessments, Acceptable use policies, guardrails, data classification models, and AI system registers.
- Maintain vendor relationship with Microsoft, and stay current with Microsoft roadmap updates and industry trends to proactively manage and adjust governance.
Salary Grade 11/12, with the base salary for this role starting at $ 149,739 base plus superannuation
